Betta Edu Takes APC Support to Calabar Hospital, Empowers Market Women

In line with the First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Dr Betta Edu, Co-Director of the Women Mobilisation wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has taken the First Lady’s compassionate humanitarian outreach to the General Hospital, Calabar.

At the hospital, Dr Edu offered financial assistance, emotional support and encouragement to patients, particularly women and children.

The outreach, PillarToday gathered, was part of the activities ahead of Monday’s APC presidential campaign rally in Calabar.

During the visit, which covered the maternity, postnatal, accident and emergency, and children’s wards, Dr Edu said the initiative was designed to demonstrate that the Renewed Hope Agenda goes beyond political mobilization..

Our Correspondent reports that Dr Betta Edu also empowered 500 market women with chest freezers and N50,000 seed capital each.

She said some of the women trade with as little as N5,000 or N10,000 capital, and that N50,000 would help them expand, earn more and better support their families.

She also sensitised the women on federal interventions, including the student loan scheme, free emergency maternal healthcare and grants for market women facilitated through the Office of the First Lady.

Edu urged Cross Riverians to support Tinubu, Governor Bassey Otu and all APC candidates in next year’s general elections.
